Happy New Year!
Now, we probably all know by now that I am a mess of WIPs, and really I should resolve to actually finish at least some of them before starting new projects… but well, what’s a new year without a new project (or two) and new yarn?!
So, I cast on a pair of Wanderlust. Finished the first one, then realize I (a) hated the seam method I used, and (b) didn’t have enough yarn for the second mitt. Oops. So I’ll be frogging the first mitt and knitting the mitts with only 3 cables instead of 4. Plus, I feel like I’ll like the slightly shorter length anyway, they went clear to my elbows with 4 cables.
It’s a terrible photo from my phone, but here’s a snap that shows the handspun (not mine, alas) yarn I’m using.
Because I was annoyed at the calamity I had with Wanderlust (and because I love starting new projects), after the first mitt I starting a pair of Align fingerless mitts. They’re knitting up surprisingly quickly for being sock yarn! It’s not much to look at while I knit it Magic Loop (the cool look comes from the line between the ribbing and stockinette), but here’s my progress anyway.
So that’s what I’m knitting instead of working on my poor neglected Cassis (or any of the other projects that have been waiting patiently for me to love them again).
Oh wait, I mentioned new yarn too, didn’t I? My favorite of the batch is my rainbow self-striping Biscotte & Cie sock yarn!
So tell me, did you start any new projects yet??

That wonderlust pattern is really pretty. I started knitting a cowl (nyoki-nyoki cowl) yesterday and I decided I should really use my stash. I was going to knit it for myself but the colours don’t speak to me so I suppose I will give it someone. Pattern is super lovely though!
I fell in love with Wanderlust as soon as I saw it :) I know what you mean about the colors, I’ve gifted a few projects recently that just wound up not suiting me how I’d hoped.
I had so many WIPs that I am of a finishing spree for a bit. There was a pair of socks, and a hat that got finished. I am now hauling on a sweater, and spinning so I can start a SAL. I like finishing more than starting projects, so clearing the needles for me is probably like filling the needles for you :D
Molly : )
I’m jealous of your finishing abilities :)
